Mechanical crushing recovery is the first stage of lithium battery recovery and purification process. As lithium batteries are flammable and explosive items, in order to ensure the safe operation of the whole process, it is necessary to discharge the lithium batteries before recycling.After discharge treatment, the batteries can be crushed into small pieces by double shaft shredder , which has a strong bite ability to tare hard shell.
The shredder works like this: batteries are transported by a belt conveyor, as soon as material are poured into the feed bin of shredder, the pushing device will squeeze them downward to the low-speed rotor, then batteries are chipped off by rotors, finally small pieces exit from the discharge hole.Battery shredders utilize a low speed, high torque, twin-shaft shredder as the primary shredder prior to further processing.
What’s more, battery shredders contain a constant water bath to prevent fires, along with a chemical-based secondary fire suppression program.
